Professional Image (Dress Code)

A professional image is a requirement for successful participation in school. Future Professionals must maintain the following professional dress code:

  1. Future Professionals may wear black or gray in any combination. Accessories may be worn in any color.
  2. Phase Two Future Professionals may wear black, gray, or white in any combination. Accessories may be worn in any color.
  3. A minimal pattern in clothing is acceptable if it is a black and gray for phase one future professionals, or black, gray, and white for Phase Two future professionals.
  4. Clothing should be professional and clean.
  5. Shoes should be clean, professional, practical, and comfortable. Shoes may be any color. The following  shoes are not permitted or allowed: athletic branded slides such as Nike, Adidas, etc., furry slides, UGG slides or crocs.
  6. Hair should be styled prior to arriving at the school.
  7. Cosmetics should be applied prior to arriving at the school.
  8. The following is a list of acceptable dress:
    1. Jeans or clothing made of jean material if they are black or gray in color. Any rips or tears must fall  below the fingertips, when standing up.
    2. Printed Paul Mitchell T-Shirts and Jackets with the Paul Mitchell logo or the school logo may be worn. No hoods, hoodies, sweatshirts allowed at al.
    3. Hats may be worn as long as they are black, grey for Phase One. Phase Two they must be black, gray  or white. Stylish head wraps and scarves can be worn in any color
    4. Skirts that fall below the fingertips.
  9. Opaque tights or leggings should be worn with skirts or dresses that fall above the fingertips for all  Future Professionals.
  10. Name tag — as provided by the school. All Future Professionals are required to wear a name tag while  in attendance. 
    The following is a list of unacceptable dress for all Future Professionals in attendance:
    1. Tank tops, spaghetti string tops, or belly shirts.
    2. Sweatpants or yoga pants
    3. Sweatshirts, hoodies, and jackets with hoods are not permitted.
    4. Skirts that fall above fingertips, when standing up without opaque leggings or tights.
    5. Baseball hats, visors, bandanas, caps, or beanies in any color except black for Phase One, or black, grey  or white for Phase Two..
    6. shorts of any kind
    7. Headphones, headgear, and/or earphones are not permitted in the classroom or the clinic classroom.
    8. Sunglasses.

Future Professionals who fail to comply with the Future Professional dress code may be coached and may receive an advisory.
